For those unfamiliar with dragons of true legend. Dragons of legend were not originally known as the cruel killers they are generally portrayed as today. They were more like a living extension of the elements. But, being that they were highly intelligent and powerful, they became feared, then hunted.
Of all beasts of myth and legend, dragons were of the most noble, most loyal. They would kill or die to defend family, even to defend friends. But, by a cruel trick of nature, the females were generally driven more by instinct while the males fell to emotions that could not be satisfied by natural means. Thusly, the males tended to grow lonely as the females only came to mate and leave. One solution the males found was to capture human "slaves". The only bonds that the males used on their slaves were those that develop in the heart and mind. For the slaves were so well treated so as to be "spoiled". They did not wish to leave. And all that was required of them was to keep the male company.
Another solution tended to occur by accident. A male dragon sometimes fell in love with a human, typically while visiting human lands for fun, masquerading as a human.
I have long felt close to the nature of dragons, for much of it applies to me. Therefore, the name I have taken online is SceaduDraca, which is Old English for ShadowDragon. There are also reasons for the shadow part of the name, mainly my penchant for ironies, the unexpected, being unable to judge by appearance, etc (i.e. The knight in dull, blackened, armor being the hero who destroys the evil knight in shining armor). But, the reason for these pages is to say some things to someone I, this dragon, SceaduDraca, love dearly who has undergone a lot in the last few days. Today's date - 10/21/98.
Thank you for visiting.
Let the wisdom of the dragons guide your way.
